Term Insurance Quotes
The time to learn about insurance types definitely needs to happen before you actually need the insurance. But, if you are like me and you just feel like you are researching yourself blind, find an expert, get some term insurance quotes and while you are at it, you can get your agent to give you a good lesson on the various types of insurance as well as who needs which kind and what will be most beneficial for you and your family.
Decorating that Big Ol’ House
I’m not much when it comes to decor and I honestly don’t know if I could even say that I have a clue what matches or what makes a good look and feel. So, I"m not so sure that you would want me to be the one decorating your house.
I mean, I know what’s good and pretty and I know what’s comfortable but when I start mixing and matching the contemporary sofas, with the not-so-contemporary accessories, you would quickly have a mess on your hands.
Our House is One Big Toy Factory
Each day, as I stumble out of my bed, I inevitably manage to stub my toe on some toys. And each morning I screech out that battle cry that goes something like "tomorrow night, no one goes to bed until all of these toys are put away".
And guess what, it never happens. The time never comes. I wake up the next day and bam, another toe stubbed. It’s so very aggravating but I love my babies.
Life Insurance
If something catastrophic were to happen in my family, I honestly do not know how we would cope. My husband does have insurance at work and he has a great job and has had a great boss for a long time. But, when it comes to being prepared for problems or accidents, we are just not that family.
We do try but we never seem to get on the right track. We spend our time pedaling backwards faster than we can pedal forward. But, the fact is, we need to get our act together and at least get a life insurance quote or two and start planning for our future.
How to land a Teacher Job by Buddy
I landed my first teaching job by…
I did not start out wanting to be a teacher. I got a job in a hospital lab while I was in college. I majored in Biology and got certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician. I continued in this position after I graduated.
I married before I graduated. My wife taught kindergarten. We rarely saw each other. I was working full time and taking classes at night. After I graduated, things were better but I had to work weekends and some nights. I also had to be on call several nights a week.
My wife kept telling me she thought I would be a great teacher. At her urging, I went back to school and got certified to teach. I was immediately offered a job at the junior high level. No way! I knew that was not what I wanted so I turned it down and kept working at the hospital.
Two years later, a month after school had started, I got a call. The Chemistry teacher at the high school was leaving for a college position. I was offered the job. I took and and 27 years later I am still glad I did.
It is rewarding to have students come back and tell me how well-prepared they were for college. I am thrilled when one of my students decides to be a Chemistry major.
If you know what you really want to teach, hang in there. Opportunity does come knocking!
Buddy is a high school Chemistry teacher in rural South Carolina. He has two sons and is married to a kindergarten teacher. This is his 27th year teaching.

Michelle Rocks the Fashion Scene
Honestly, I have been known to go out in public every now and again wearing sleeveless shirts. I probably shouldn’t and the police on various fashion blogs are probably all over me every time they see me. I don’t have those gorgeous buff arms that Michelle Obama has. And, for that matter, I don’t think I ever had those arms.
I did have some hot legs when I was younger but my arms, nope, always been a victim of someone’s fashion joke when it comes to that. I just can’t help it, my arms are definitely not my strong suit.
Doors to the White House
It’s not that big of deal to me really when it comes to doors. I let my husband do the choosing. But, if you live in a house like Michelle Obama does, you might want to consult a stylist or someone who is at least educated in fashion and design of homes. For me, it’s more about pretty door handles than big doors that are massive in size.
But, of course, for me, it’s more about keeping my 4 bedroom house clean than finding a house the size of the one Michelle lives in too. I wonder if Michelle knows much about other door ways and if she would choose one type of door over another. Or maybe she is stuck with what the construction workers and fashion police tell her is acceptable.
Wait, we all know she doesn’t care about the fashion police, now does she?
Michelle is a Beauty and her Style is to die for
I can say lots of our beautiful First Lady but I can never tell you the admiration I feel for Michelle Obama and her choice of clothing. Honesty, even with a stylist, I don’t think I could put together some of the great styles that she manages to pull off.
If you are in search of that one perfect outfit, you can be4 sure that opening your favorite search engine and looking probably going to get you no where. But, if you choose one of your favorite fashion blogs, then you will at least have control over the type of clothing you find.
Sports Tickets
I have always been a sports fanatic. I played high school and collegiate sports and I’m one of a few women who love to hear the words Super Bowl, All-Star Games, Spring Training. Other women I know shutter at the thought. But, if I lived anywhere near a professional team, you can guarantee I’d bust my behind to purchase season tickets for my family. I really do enjoy a good ball game of almost any kind.
Since we just watched the NBA All-Star game, tickets to see either the New York Knicks Tickets or Los Angeles Lakers Tickets would be awesome. I’m not sure how fun my husband would find it to be but I know my kids would be in complete aww of the game, the players, even the atmosphere.
And, there’s always the idea of moving near a town that offers professional sports and having New York Rangers Tickets would just be one more reason to get excited. I can tell you for certain, my kids would just be giddy with excitement.
In a big house, like the White House…
We have steps leading up to our front door. Other than that, we don’t have steps in our house. So, when I was having issues with the cast on my leg and climbing around on steps, I could simply just sit on my behind and skoot up the steps.
If you live in the a house like Michelle Obama does, you know, the White House, it’s fairly obvious that a broken leg which required crutches to get around, would be enough to make someone just want to sit on the front steps for a few months.
I’m afraid that skooting around in the White House on my bum just to get up stairs probably wouldn’t be too acceptable. I think that mobility products from mobility compare like the ones used for stairs is absolutely a product to investigate. Because really, do we want to see anyone in the white house skooting around on their backside?
